These production processes release gases containing formaldehyde &#8211; a volatile and potentially harmful substance that is strictly regulated under European environmental legislation.<\/p>\n<p>To comply with the strict emission limits and to ensure the safety of employees and the environment, Weylchem-Lamotte called on Task Environmental Engineering. We realised a scrubber specifically designed for the effective absorption and neutralisation of formaldehyde from process air.<\/p>\n<p>The scrubber was designed based on the chemical and physical properties of formaldehyde, considering:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Optimal contact time between gas and washing liquid<\/li>\n<li>Corrosion-resistant materials adapted to the aggressive nature of the vapours<\/li>\n<li>Automated monitoring of pH, temperature and washing liquid quality<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This approach achieves very high removal efficiency, making the plant well within local and European emission standards.
