Locally grown potatoes are processed on the two production sites. Task realized a biogas desulfurization at the site in Sint-Eloois-Vijve.  <\/p>\n<h2>Why does H<sub>2<\/sub>S (hydrogen disulfide) need to be removed?<\/h2>\n<p>Hydrogen sulfide is produced by many industries, including food processing, wastewater treatment, blast furnaces, paper mills, tanneries and oil refining. H<sub>2<\/sub>S((di)hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen disulfide or hydrogen sulfide gas) is a toxic and flammable gas with a typical odor of rotten eggs. Because of this toxicity, it is important to remove it. Due to the toxicity of H<sub>2<\/sub>S, inhaling even low concentrations of hydrogen sulfide is dangerous for long periods of time.   <\/p>\n<h2>What is the removal efficiency of hydrogen sulfide with a biological scrubber?<\/h2>\n<p>The removal efficiency with this method is about 95%. This means that no odor is released into the environment. This can be verified with a simple odor measurement or olfactometry.  <\/p>\n<h2>Cost-saving technology<\/h2>\n<p>One of the main advantages of this removal technique is its very low operating costs.
