The company Biond operates and develops one of the country’s largest waste management sites and biogas production plants just outside the city of Helsingborg. This Biond plant has a capacity of about 150,000 tonnes of organic waste per year. Biond provides biogas and liquid bio-fertiliser to the Swedish transport sector and Swedish agriculture. <\/p>\n
The liquid biofertiliser is certified according to SPCR 120, which means, among other things, that visible impurities should not exceed 10 cm\u00b2\/kg of liquid biofertiliser. <\/p>\n
Biond could not meet these requirements until it opted for a Lackeby Roto-Sieve drum screen type RS 36. Roto-Sieve drum screen not only strain waste waters or process waters, but also strain other liquids just as well. <\/p>\n
On the advice of Purac, Biond chose a Lackeby Roto-Sieve drum screen RS 36. Purac installed this drum screen in 2020. Since then, the measured value of visible pollutants after the Roto-Sieve drum screen is now close to zero! Most of the separated material from the bio-fertiliser consists of plastic and straw. This material is then treated in the incinerator. <\/p>\n
This application is a great illustration of the versatility of Roto-Sieve drum screens. Roto-Sieve drum screens provide effective screening of wastewater and process water. In addition, Roto-Sieve drum screens can also handle a wide range of liquids (e.g. oil). <\/p>\n
