Lackeby’s sludge-water heat exchangers from Sweden are used for energy recovery at the Albertstroom biogas plant in Grobbendonk Belgium.
At this plant, biomass – mainly organic biological waste – is fermented into biogas. The biogas formed is then used in a cogeneration gas engine to produce electricity and heat. Albertstroom is one of Europe’s largest biogas plants in which a wide variety of waste streams can be processed. It produces green electricity for 25,000 households.
