Renewi specialises in processing waste into renewable raw materials. Renewi’s activities at the Roeselare site include processing waste streams through solidification. This process can produce significant amounts of ammonia (NH3) in the flue gases, which can lead to odour nuisance and increased nitrogen emissions in the surrounding area.
To effectively control these emissions, a scrubber with a capacity of 35,000 m³/h was installed by Task Environmental Engineering. The scrubber consists of several stages where ammonia vapours are absorbed and neutralised. This ensures effective capture of ammonia and contributes to significant reduction of odour nuisance to surrounding areas.
The plant is fully custom designed to meet the stringent emission limits. It is vital that industrial processes comply with applicable environmental legislation and air purification standards. Task’s scrubber ensures that Renewi not only remains compliant with legislation, but also makes a responsible contribution to the environment by significantly reducing harmful emissions.
This solution not only offers Renewi benefits in terms of environmental impact and sustainability, but also plays an important role in strengthening the company’s corporate social responsibility. Moreover, the installed scrubber ensures safe and efficient operation without sacrificing production capacity.
Task Srl has more than 30 years of experience in the development and installation of air purification systems for various industrial sectors, including the waste processing industry.
