Weylchem-Lamotte produces various chemicals at its Troly-Breuil site in France. These production processes release gases containing formaldehyde – a volatile and potentially harmful substance that is strictly regulated under European environmental legislation.
To comply with the strict emission limits and to ensure the safety of employees and the environment, Weylchem-Lamotte called on Task Industrial Environmental Engineering. We realised a scrubber specifically designed for the effective absorption and neutralisation of formaldehyde from process air.
The scrubber was designed based on the chemical and physical properties of formaldehyde, considering:
- Optimal contact time between gas and washing liquid
- Corrosion-resistant materials adapted to the aggressive nature of the vapours
- Automated monitoring of pH, temperature and washing liquid quality
This approach achieves very high removal efficiency, making the plant well within local and European emission standards. The scrubber operates continuously, with low maintenance requirements and high operational reliability – a crucial factor in a production environment where downtime can cause significant costs.
At Task BV, we accompany our customers from the initial analysis and engineering phase, through construction and commissioning, up to and including on-site training of operating personnel. We combine technical know-how with practical experience in the chemical industry to deliver sustainable, compliant and safe air purification solutions.
Do you deal with volatile organic compounds such as formaldehyde, solvents or other emission-sensitive substances within your production environment? Contact Task Industrial Environmental Engineering for a tailor-made solution that meets both technical requirements and environmental legislation.
