Jet aeration systems were successfully integrated into the wastewater treatment plants of several waste processors (Vanheede Biomass Solutions in Quévy in this case). Vanheede Biomass Solutions processes packaged and unpackaged food waste in Quévy. The fermentation process of the organic mass generates energy. A soil conditioner for agricultural applications is produced as a by-product of the fermentation process. In such water treatment plants, efficient and low-maintenance aeration is crucial.
Installation of a jet aeration system
Installing a jet aerator is simple. The jet aerator is mounted on several skids that are attached to the bottom of the tank. Mounting the jet aeration headers can be done perfectly in advance. At final installation, the skids are lifted into the basin. This can be done in both empty and full basins. If the basin cannot be emptied, divers can install the jet aeration headers without any problems.
The blowers are set up outside the tank, ensuring easy access for maintenance. There are no moving parts in the tank, making jet aeration a very maintenance-friendly system.
