Since 1984, Roto-Sieve drum screens have been produced by Sweden’s Läckeby Products. Meanwhile, the counter already stands at more than 5000 units worldwide. The honour for the 5000th sieve was given to Roto-Sieve France.
Roto-Sieve drum screen number 5000 commissioned by Roto-Sieve France
Some projects are just a little more special than others. At the beginning of the summer, Roto-Sieve France was allowed to supply 2 Roto-Sieve model 24 at the municipal wastewater treatment plant of Pollestres in southern France. Pollestres is located in the Pyrénées Orientales department, near Perpignan. It is a 10,000 IE water treatment plant. The Kubota membranes were in need of replacement after 10 years of service. Although the Roto-Sieves have an expected service life of more than 20 years, the local authorities opted to replace the drum screens at the same time. The Roto-Sieves have been in operation since September 2020.
Protection of membranes in water treatment plants
In this application, the Roto-Sieve drum screens serve to protect the fragile Kubota membranes. This by removing as much grid material as possible from the water in the preliminary stage. The Roto-Sieve drum screens remove about 10 tonnes of screenings per year, thus having a significant impact on the life of the membranes.
Milestone
Läckeby/Roto-Sieve is extremely proud of the renewed customer confidence (it involves replacing existing appliances). The entire team is delighted that we were able to supply Läckeby Roto-Sieve drum screen numbers 5000 and 5001 for this purpose.
PS: The above picture was taken just before Roto-Sieve 5001 was placed.
This is another milestone in the Roto-Sieve success story! Roto-Sieve was the first patented drum screen for wastewater treatment on the market and is still the reference. The cradle of Roto-Sieve is in Scandinavia; Roto-Sieve is a Swedish invention.
