A properly functioning scrubber requires regular maintenance. Normally, maintenance is limited to checking and calibrating the measurement and control equipment. In some applications, gas scrubber maintenance may extend to cleaning the packing. For instance, the packing may become clogged by micro-organisms.
Packing replacement and gas scrubber inspection
The gas scrubbers are constructed so that packing can be easily and quickly removed. After a thorough cleaning of the dirty and fouled packing, it can often be reused. We recommend our customers to provide a spare set of packing. In this way, production can continue uninterrupted. In principle, both the random packing and the structured packing can be cleaned for further reuse.
