TASK performed an engineering intervention for the replacement of the structured gasket in a scrubber used for the removal of ammonia from gas streams. The efficiency of such a scrubber is determined, among other things, by the gasket, which ensures an optimal contact surface between the gas and liquid phases and thus efficient absorption.
During this intervention, the existing gasket, which was contaminated, was carefully removed. These were structured gasket blocks, which had deteriorated over time due to certain process conditions. After disassembly, the new gasket blocks were installed back into the column.
To carry out this work safely and efficiently, a mobile crane was used. Thanks to this thorough approach, the scrubber is once again ready for long-term and efficient operation.
TASK has extensive expertise in maintenance and retrofit of gas scrubbers and similar process equipment, focusing on safety, efficiency and sustainability.
