Roto-Sieve drum sieve screens offal

Roto-Sieve trommelzeef zeeft slachtafval uit afvalwater in slachthuis

This particular application of the Roto-Sieve drum screen is in a slaughterhouse specialising in cattle processing. What is remarkable about this project is that the installation is not used for the traditional treatment of the waste water flow, but for a separate, yet extremely critical step in the processing of slaughterhouse waste: the pretreatment and dewatering of cattle stomachs and other slaughterhouse waste.

The process uses a Roto-Sieve drum screen with a 3.0 mm perforation. This configuration makes it possible to mechanically separate large quantities of organic material from excess water. The incoming flow consists of a mixture of solid fractions and wet mass from slaughter, including parts of the gastrointestinal system. The drum screen ensures efficient dewatering.

Thanks to its robust design and self-cleaning operation, it is able to keep performing under harsh process conditions. The result is significantly drier output, which can be more easily disposed of or further processed, e.g. for processing into animal feed or other applications.

This successful application was realised by our Mexican colleagues, who fine-tuned the installation to local process requirements. The deployment of the Roto-Sieve in slaughterhouses once again demonstrates the versatility and reliability of these devices, even in applications outside conventional water treatment.

Task already has several references in slaughterhouses in Belgium and the Netherlands. Contact us and find out how we can optimise your process.
