How does an air scrubber work?
An air scrubber is one of the most widely used techniques for air purification and odour control. In an air scrubber, unwanted components are removed from the gas and absorbed into the liquid. To do this, the air stream is brought into contact with a cleaning liquid. Inside the column, there are filling bodies or packing to maximize the efficiency of the scrubber. The washing liquid consists of water to which chemicals are added. The composition of the scrubbing liquid depends entirely on the nature, initial concentration, composition of the components to be removed and the predetermined efficiency of the air scrubber. Air scrubbers are available for small as well as for large flow rates.
A gas scrubber mainly consists of the following components: wash tower, packing/filling bodies (structured or random), droplet separator, nozzle(s) or liquid distributor, pump, chemical dosing, measuring and control equipment (pH, redox) and a water replenishment system.
Custom made air scrubbers

Also retrofitting of existing air scrubbers for livestock farming and in agro-industry, the existing situation is first thoroughly examined and sampled, before proposing a solution/adaptation. Every airflow and every situation is different. There are no standard solutions in our field, even if the basic fact looks seemingly identical to other similar agro-installations. For each application, the design is such that changes in capacity and production process can always be anticipated, within certain limits obviously. Of course, all air scrubbers are designed to fit seamlessly into the existing situation.

Replacing packing and internals
The correct selection of packing and other internals of an air scrubber is specialist work. This selection largely determines whether or not your air scrubber installation will function properly. Fouled packing, clogged and compressed packing will increase the pressure drop across the air scrubber and decrease the efficiency of the installation. We will provide packing replacement and/or other internals and work with you to choose the right type with the optimum efficiency.
