Oil separator for industrial water treatment

If you are looking for a solution to separate oil from your process baths, we have got you covered. We deliver several types of oil separators. From the most simple oil separator, over the more sophisticated Suparator oil separators, to the membrane technology solutions for oil-water emulsions.

These oil separators are often used in process baths in the automotive and galvanic industries (metal processing, coating and surface treatment of metals). Good cleaning is of fundamental importance for the quality of the end product. The degreasing effect of cleaning agents can decrease as more oil and contaminants (such as dust or grinding residue) are introduced into the cleaning agent. Therefore, a good oil separation is necessary.

Which techniques are used for oil separation?

The most efficient oil separator

Suparator oil separators are without doubt the most effective oil separators on the market. The oil can be completely separated from the cleaning agent within minutes. Greases and oils are then no longer a reason to replace the cleaning agent.

Why choose our oil separators?

  • Fast and effective oil separation
  • Various capacities: 200 – 400,000 L baths
  • Also effective for small installations
  • Minimal operating costs
  • Maintenance-free construction
  • Optimal quality of your products
  • Maximum lifespan of the cleaner
  • Very short payback period

How does an oil separator work?

The oil separator continuously keeps the oil content in the cleaning agent at a very low level. The system consists of two parts: a skimmer and a suparator unit.

The skimmer is mounted in the bath and moves with the liquid level. Moreover, the skimmer is designed in such a way that the top layer is continuously skimmed off and the formation of an oil layer is prevented.

Once skimmed, the top layer, with cleaning agent and traces of oil, is then passed through a separation unit. In the separation unit, the oil is concentrated and then separated in a number of steps. The now cleaned cleaning agent is returned via the bottom section.

Extended cleaner life with an oil separator

In conventional separators, an oil layer remains floating on the cleaning agent. This gives the dirt in the oil ample time to sink into the cleaning agent. The installation gets dirty, the cleaning effect decreases, the products become less pure! Our oil separator keeps the cleaning agent oil-free. Due to the sophisticated construction, the top layer is quickly drained into the separation unit where the oil is separated from the cleaning agent within minutes.

The graph below shows the effect of using our oil separator on the lifetime of the cleaning agent. Without oil separation (red line), the cleaning agent has a short lifetime. Skimmers or conventional oil separation (orange line) only improve the situation to a limited extent. Our oil separator (green line), on the other hand, allows the cleaner to be used up to 4 times longer.
